Under 14s ..New Ross Celtic 12-1 All Blacks comfortable win in horrible weather
New Ross Celtic:Dean Katus,Conor Walsh,Jack Gaynord(1),Cormac Tierney,Ciaran St Ledger,Keith O leary,Thomas O connor(2),Dylan wickham(1),David O Connor(3),Kyle Grangel(1),Michael Kelly(3)..The team had to be changed around a bit with sean duffy being suspended and the captaincy going to David O Connor for the day.All Blacks were always going to be the underdogs in this game with them being 2 divisions below Celtic but they still cud'nt under estimate them. The first goal was'nt long coming around when Michael kelly latched on to a through ball to make it one nil. That opened up the flood gates for Celtic with Michael kelly getting another 2 to make his hatrick,David o connor,Jack Gaynord,Kyle grangel and Dylan wickham all getting goals before half time.7-0 at the break and celtic made a change bringing on ger berry for michael kelly who was happy enough with his 3 goals.Sum sloppy defending left all blacks in for a stupid goal but after that it was a matter of how many the boys would score and when David O connor got another 2 to complete his hatrick and his cousin thomas getting 2 of his own,It was better if the ref blew it up early .And when the sub ger berry popped up to get a goal of his own the ref had enough and ended the match 13 minutes early.Great win boys build on that now for the next match

Under 14s.. New Ross Celtic 2-1 curracloe.. Windy conditions made game very tough
Celtic came into this game on the back of a defeat to top of the table side gorey but they bounced back with a good win.Limited players meant celtic only had 11 players to choose from but the 11 players stood tall and didnt let each other down with a fine performance by everyone. In goal Dean Kehoe, back line of Ciaran St Ledger,Jack Gaynord,Stuart frizelle,Conor walsh,Midfield ,Michael Kelly,Sean Duffy,Thomas O Connor,Keith O Leary up front Dylan Wickham and Kyle Grangel,The game got of to the worst possible start when a break down the right hand side with just 5 minutes gone was swung in and got a wicked deflection guiding it past dean kehoe giving him no chance. The boys wer'nt going to let one silly mistake get to them and they piled on the pressure straight away with some good shots from kyle grangel and thomas o connor.Just before the break celtic made the pressure count with the ball falling to thomas o connor who shot a lovely shot from outside the box to beat the keeper on his right hand side to make it 1-1 at the break. With some good encouragement by the manager colm duffy at half time gave the players a boost to give it there best shot. The 2nd half started off fairly slow with the ball being in midfield for at least 10 minutes. Some quick passes by curracloe half way through the 2nd half gave them some good chances to take the lead only for Man of the match dean kehoe making 3 or 4 fantastic saves to keep things level. With the Defence of Ciaran ,conor, stuie, and jack clearing anything tat came at them made it very hard for the home team to mount any really chances coming to the end of the match. At this stage the celtic midfield of sean, monkey, thomas and michael were starting to pass the ball around a good and make a few chances of shots for dylan and kyle. The break through finally came when a shot from dylan came back to sean duffy, who shot from way out and left the keeper no chance.Alot of pressure was piled on the celtic goal near the end but the boys held out for the win,WELL DONE BOYS GREAT WIN

Under 12 Cup - New Ross Celtic 0 Crossabeg 1
Playing against a team two divisions above them and league leaders at that was always going to be a daunting prospect but Celtic turned in a sterling performance to push their much vaunted opponents to the pin of their collar before succumbing to a goal which was very much in the fortunate category. In truth this was a game of very few chances with both defences performing brilliantly while the handling of the two goalkeepers was excellent throughout. The game ebbed and flowed throughout with both sides enjoying periods of dominance which only produced a few half chances. Ger Berry was soundness personified between the posts for Ross while Anthony O'Connor and Diarmuid Kehoe were twin rocks at the centre of the defence. Both Craig McDonald and Eoin Burke faced up to pacey opponents and dealt comfortably with everything thrown at them. Rory O'Connor tormented the away defence at times with his tricky play and pace and was most unlucky not to grab a goal midway through the first half only to be denied by the visiting keeper. Shortly afterwards a wicked deflection in the Celtic defence broke to the Crossabeg striker who honed in on goal only to be denied by a super save from Ger Berry but the ball broke to another Crossabeg player who finished to the net. Another electric break by Rory O'Connor saw him tee up Kyle Gardiner, who held the ball up to great effect throughout the first half, for a shot which flew the wrong side of the post. Conor Walsh and Kyle McGrath worked themselves to a standstill in the centre of midfield and never allowed the more physical away side to gain a foothold. Keane Walsh was another to impress with his passing and control while Joseph Lawal was a constant threat with his pace and workrate. The second half was a mirror of the first with both sides working their socks off to create chances but two well marshalled defences only allowed the concession of the minimal amount of half chances. Crossabeg brought several comfortable saves from Ger Berry while the away keeper was soundness personified with Kyle McGrath most unlucky to get a clear sight of goal on one occasion and Rory O'Connor being denied at the death on a number of occasions. Patrick Richardson and Kyle Dwyer appearred as half time substitutes and impressed with some very astute passes but in the end it was the visitors who advanced to the next round courtesy of this narrow victory.
New Ross Celtic : Ger Berry, Eoin Burke, Anthony O'Connor, Diarmuid Kehoe, Craig McDonald, Rory O'Connor, Conor Walsh, Kyle McGrath, Keane Walsh ( Patrick Richardson ), Joseph Lawal, Kyle Gardiner ( Kyle Dwyer )

Under 11 Cup - New Ross Celtic 4 Rosslare Strand 0
Celtic made hard going of this fixture for a long time as a game Strand side gave as good as they got and were most unlucky not to have made matters a lot more uncomfortable for the home side. The first half was a very even affair with chances at a premium. The home defence of Aaron Flynn, Keane Walsh and Craig McDonald were imperious throughout the game and gave their opponents very few sights of keeper Patrick Richardson's goal, whose handling at all times was impeccable. Dean Murphy, Arran Kinsella and Mike Chapman were stretching the away defence to the limit with their pace and incisive interplay and from one of these passages of play Dean Murphy let fly from outside the box and the shot found the back of the net despite the best efforts of the Strand goalkeeper. From there to half time the game was nip and tuck without either side looking like adding to the scoreline. The hard tackling of Tristan O'Neill and the rangy running of John Grace and Joseph Lawal was a feature of the first half and this started to bear fruit after the break as the away side started to creak under the pressure, although it took two excellent reflex stops from Patrick Richardson to deprive The Rosslare side an equaliser. Fresh from these escapes Celtic swept up the pitch and a fine move culminated in Mike Chapman grabbing the second goal with a smart finish. Almost immediately the Ross lads attacked again and the visiting keeper could only parry an excellent strike from Arran Kinsella into the path of the onrushing Dean Murphy who bundled the ball to the back of the net. The resistance of the away side was broken at this stage and it came as no surprise when Joseph Lawal completed the scoring with a cool finish to the corner of the net after he seized on a poor clearance. Indeed the score could have been added to but super efforts from John Grace, Aaron Flynn and Patrick Richardson were most unlucky not to find the target.
New Ross Celtic: Ptrick Richardson, Aaron Flynn, Keane Walsh, Craig McDonald, John Grace, Tristan O'Neill, Joseph Lawal, Mike Chapman, Dean Murphy, Arran Kinsella

New Ross Celtic U16 v Bunclody
New Ross Celtic travelled to Bunclody on New Years Eve in the league.Strating team was Cian O Donoghoe, Jack Foran, Donnacha O Connor, Liam Hennesy, Sean Duffy, Gavin Walsh, Eoin Rhodes, Paul Manning, Ryan Delaney, William Treacy and Shane Wylde. The game started slowly with a lot of the Celtic boys having played for the Youths the day earlier looking a bit sluggish and sore . Celtic were on top from the start but they play was not up to the standard they have set in earlier games. Maybe the Christmas break had something to do with this. Celtic were creating chances but were not as sharp as they should of been and taking that extra touch when they should not of been. Celtic should of been at least 4 0 up after twenty minutes with Shane Wylde and William Treacy missing simple chances which they should be scoring with there eyes closed. Luckily Bunclody never really looked like scoring on the day. Celtic eventually got there act together and within 15 minutes were 3 0 up with Eoin Rhodes getting two and William Treacy getting one. Celtic lead 3 0 at the break without playing well. Celtic started the second half a lot better but again looked tired in spells. Twenty minutes gone and it was 4 0 with Eoin Rhodes getting his hatrick. Eanna Kennedy replaced Gavin Walsh and Danieles Niekes replaced Eoin Rhodes with twenty minutes to go. Celtic pushed on again and William Treacy scored another two before the end to also score a hatrick. Tougher games lie ahead for this team and better performances will be needed. On the plus side this win keeps up Celtics 100% record and it is a good sign not to play well and still win comfortably. Again many thanks to parents who drove and came and supported the boys it is very much appreciated. Come ON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!

Under 14s New Ross Celtic 1-3 Gorey Rangers. Great team spirit shown against a tough gorey side
Celtic travelled to gorey on a very cold and windy morning Knowing they were going to be up against a very strong gorey side which had a number of county players involved But for most of the game the boys really put it up to them giving them no time on the ball. The team was in Goal Dean Katus,Back line of David O'Connor,Stuie Frizelle,Jack Gaynord,Conor Walsh,Midfield of Monkey O'Leary,Sean Duffy,Thomas O'Connor,Ciaron St Ledger, Up Front Dylan wickham and Cheesey.Gorey started off the better team making a few early chances and it took a little while for celtic to get into the game and start to pass the ball around and bring the midfield players into it.A good chance came when Sean duffy took a free kick from outside the box the keeper pushed it out to Dylan wickham who then hit the keeper with the ball and thomas o connor tapped it home. The boys went off celebrating only for the ref to blow for offside. With all the chances falling to celtic it was only a matter of time before they scored and with good work by monkey o leary and dylan wickham on the right put thomas o connor in on goal and he made no mistake rounding the keeper and slotting it home.1-0 at break but the strong wind was going to be against them in the 2nd half.Celtic held out for bout 10 minutes in the 2nd half before Gorey got there 1st with a shot from outside the box that no keeper would ave stopped. The boys let there heads drop a small bit and when a simple cross came across the box nobody seemed to deal with it and it just rolled into the bottom corner. With just 5 minutes left Gorey rapped up the game with the ball bouncing around the box and hitting one of there players for a lucky 3rd.Some great saves from dean katus throughout the game kept the score close till the last 5 minutes,Well done to the whole team, there wasnt a bad player on the pitch on the day.

Celtic Under 16s win in Gorey
New Ross Celtic Under 16s travelled to Gorey on Saturday last to play Gorey Rangers on a frezing morning and played on a frozen pitch. Celtic were missing 5 regulars with Conor Tierney, William Treacy, Liam Hennessy, Niall Dunne and Danieles Niekis all missing from the squad. Celtic were top and Gorey in second place needed a win to close the gap on Celtic. Three under 14 players were brought into the squad with two of these starting. The starting team was Cian O Donoghoue, Eanna Kennedy, Jack Foran, Donnacha O Connor, Gavin Walsh, Paul Manning, Eoin Rhodes, Ryan Delaney, Shane Wylde and Thomas O Connor with Jack Gaynor on the bench.
The game started at a frantic pace with Celtic attcking from the off and took the lead after only 4 minutes with Eoin Rhodes scoring from all of thirty yards with a rocket into the top corner of the net. Gorey were rattled and Celtic were dominating Thomas O Connor was playing up front in his first game with the 16s and looked like he was there all season holding up play and bringing others into the game with some delightful footwork.Celtic struck the crossbar from some good work from Thomas and Ryan Delaney down the left and Gavin Walsh got his head to it but it hit the underside of the crossbar and was cleared. Gorey then began to get on top after twenty minutes and had Celtic under severe pressure and were really testing Cian and the back four especially at set plays. The Celtic back four of Eanna Kennedy, Jack Foran, Donnacha O Connor and Sean Duffy who is still under 14 and has made the left back spot his own were in great form and defended excellently for the remainer of the half with Cian mopping up anything that did get through behind them. Celtic were hanging on a bit and were happy to here the half time whistle.
Celtic switched Paul Manning and Ryan Delaney at half time with Ryan going into the middle and got on the ball and got it moving with Paul using his pace on the wing and this move paid off right at the start of the second half with Paul getting on the score sheet. The goal came from some good work from Gavin and Shane down the right with Shane cutting in and shooting which the keeper saved and Thomas was onto it in a flash but somehow the keeper got a hand to it but again it fell to a Celtic player and Paul Manning stroked it home to make it 2 0. Celtic were full of confidence at this stage and shortly afterwards forced a corner which Paul Manning crossed and Eoin Rhodes rose highest to make it 3 0. Gorey were beaten now and began to give away a lot of fouls from here on in. From one of these frees Ryan and Paul exchanged pases before putting a through ball which looked like the keeper had read but the keeper messed up the clearence and Tomas O Conner latched onto and did not need a touch but struck it first time curling it around the keeper into the net from twenty yards. A goal which his over all play deserved. That was the three points wrapped up and Celtic brought young Jack Gaynor on for the last ten minutes for Eoin Rhodes for his first U16s game. Jack had the final say when he latched onto a ball on the edge of the box and rifled it home with the outside of his foot or was it the inside i not sure even Jack knew but it was a great finish and Jack had a celebration to match!!! 5 0 was the final score a great result especially with missing so many but the replacements have now played themselves into contention for the next game and keeps up Celtics 100% start to the season and leaves them in a great position. Thanks again to all parents who drove and for your support on the line as always it is greatly appreciated!!! COME ON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!

Under 11 Div 1 - Wexford Albion 3 New Ross Celtic 1
It's unfortunate that the two games Celtic have been short players have been against the two unbeaten leaders and it has cost them dearly both times. For this match the young Celts had to line up without the influential Joseph Lawal, Keane Walsh and Tristan O'Neill. The first half saw the visitors having to face into the notorious hill and the homesters took great advantage to pin the Ross lads back for much of the half. Despite this the game was scoreless until a hopeful ball into the box was finished acrobatically by the home striker. Soon after the lead was doubled as a corner from the right was met at the near post. The midfield were struggling to get into the game and it left the defence of Anthony O'Connor, Aaron Nolan and Craig McDonald isolated though they stuck manfully to their task while John Grace produced some fine stops in goal. Up front Patrick Richardson, Jake O'Gorman and Arran Kinsella worked exceptionally hard to fashion openings and the closest they came was a Rory O'Connor strike from a free. Just on half time Albion grabbed a third with a fine volley from just inside the box. The second half saw Celtic come more and more into the game as the hill took it's toll on the Wexford boys and Rory O'Connor, Kyle McGrath and Aaron Flynn started to wrest control of affairs. Celtic did manage to grab a goal back when an inswinging corner was finished to the net by Kyle McGrath and all of a sudden the Albion side were on the backfoot as the Ross boys swarmed all over them. A thrilling run by Rory O'Connor saw him beat three defenders but his strong shot was touched onto the post by the keeper. That was as close as Celtic came despite their incessant efforts though another O'Connor free grazed the bar.

Under 11 Div 3a - New Ross Celtic 2 Gorey Rangers 4
This top of the table clash was a cracking game between two equally committed teams who produced a very high quality of football. Both teams enjoyed periods of dominance where they threatened to take control of affairs but then the other side would come roaring back into the game. It was the home side who appearred to be wresting control at the start of the game as they took the lead through a stunning strike from Aaron Flynn which crashed back out off the back stanchion and was only correctly spotted by the alert referee who awarded the goal. Celtic appearred comfortable for the next few minutes until a wicked bounce deceived Ryan Gardiner in goal, who's handling was faultless throughout, and ended up in the net. This goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of the young Celts as the visitors enjoyed total dominance from there til half time and had struck the post twice before they took the lead in fortunate circumstances as a corner somehow found it's way to the back of the Celtic net. Indeed but for the fine defensive work of Aaron Nolan, Dean Bookle, Jamie Malone and Luke Nolan the home side might have been in deep trouble before the break. The second half start out much more even with Tristan O'Neill, Arran Kinsella, Aaron Flynn and Jake O'Gorman enjoying a greater share of possession in the middle of the park and Oskar Tomczynski, Dean Flynn and Dominic Bodo working their socks off for the cause and it was very much against the run of the play when the Celtic defence again failed to deal with a corner and the Rangers striker finished to the back of the net. Despite this setback, the homesters refused a lie down and a thrilling run from Mike Chapman, who soldiered on despite not being well, ended with him laying the ball off for Jake O'Gorman to coolly slot home. The excitement was at fever pitch at this stage as Celtic fought tooth and nail to snatch the draw their efforts deserved while Gorey always looked dangerous on the break with their neat passing and speed in attack. In the end it was another slack piece of defending which saw the visitors clinch the win with only a couple of minutes left on the clock. This was a really top class display by the home side as they produced two superb goals only to be outdone by some momentary lapses of concentration.
New Ross Celtic: Ryan Gardiner, Luke Nolan, Aaron Nolan, Jamie Malone, Arran Kinsella, Tristan O'Neill, Jake O'Gorman, Mike Chapman, Aaron Flynn, Dean Flynn, Oskar Tomczynski, Dominic Bodo, Dean Bookle

Under 12 Div 2a - St Cormacs 3 New Ross Celtic 2
This was a very disappointing end to Celtics unbeaten record in this division as they scorned a number of gilt edged chances against a St Cormacs side who played a more direct style of football which suited the prevailing conditions. The away side faced into the gale force conditions in the first half and seemed to make light of the strong wind as they dominated possession but couldn't get through the massed ranks of home defenders. However a quick break seemed to catch Celtic napping and a poor clearance fell to the home striker who finished smartly. Undeterred, Celtic struck back straight from the kick off as Rory O'Connor found the back of the net with a cool finish after Kyle McGrath and Joseph Lawal were denied. One had to feel sympathy for Kyle Gardiner who was faltless throughout and yet by half time had to pick the ball out of his net twice more as first a free from out on the right caught the top of a Celtic head to sail into the top corner of the net and then another free from outside was smashed into the same corner despite the despairing hand of the keeper. With Eoin Burke and Craig McDonald dominating on either flank and Aaron Flynn and Diarmuid Kehoe solid as a rock in the middle of the defence Celtic looked a much more composed side in the second half and never gave the home side another sight of Ger Berry, who had taken over bewteen the posts and who delat capably with anything thrown at him. At last, the midfield of Rory O'Connor, Conor Walsh, Josh O'Leary, Kyle McGrath and Joseph Lawal started to take an iron grip and it seemed only a matter of time before the goals started flowing with Keane Walsh looking dangerous up front. Within ten minutes Celtic reduced the deficit as a flowing move involving Craig McDonald and Joseph Lawal saw Rory O'Connor race clear of the defence before finishing superbly. Try as they might, the equalising goal would not come as the home keeper incredibly denied Keane Walsh and Kyle McGrath while Josh O'Leary was only centimetres away with another effort. All in all, a disppointing result for the young Celts at a tricky venue.
New Ross Celtic: Kyle Gardiner ( Keane Walsh ), Eoin Burke, Craig McDonald, Diarmuid Kehoe, Aaron Flynn, Rory O'Connor, Conor Walsh, Josh O'Leary, Kyle McGrath, Joseph Lawal, Ger Berry

Under 10 - Fethard Rangers 4 New Ross Celtic 0
This match was played out in a gale force wnd with Celtic having the advantage of the elements in the first half with Oskar Tomczynski and Dominic Bodo most unlucky not grab an opening score. Ryan Gardiner was faultless in goal in the first half with James Callaghan and Jamie Malone as twin towers of strength in front of him ensuring that the away goal was not breeched in the first half. Travis Phillips was another to impress with Arran Kinsella, Dominic Bodo, Conor Murphy and Ryan Kielthy dominating affairs in the middle of the park. Oskar Tomczynski, Liam Bolger Hynes and Matej Stepanek were a constant threat up front with Thomas Egan providing a constant outlet for the defence. The last thing the Ross lads needed at the start of the second half was to concede an early goal in the prevailing conditions but not alone did they concede an early goal but that was quickly followed by another home goal. Gamely, the young Celts fought the elements and a now rampant home side and almost snatched a consolation score through Ryan Gardiner before conceding two more goals late on to cast a rather unfair reflection on the scoreline.
New Ross Celtic: Ryan Gardiner, James Callaghan, Jamie Malone, Travis Phillips, Arran Kinsella, Ryan Kielthy, Dominic Bodo, Conor Murphy, Oskar Tomczynski, Liam Bolger Hynes, Thomas Egan, Matej Stepanek

Celtic u 16 v Forth Celtic u 16
On a wet pitch and very windy conditions Ross Celtic played Forth Celtic in there 4th league game of the season. The Celtic starting eleven was Cian O Donoghue,Jak Foran,Sean duffy, Liam Hennessy, Donnacha O Connor, Gavin Walsh, Eoin Rhodes, Paul Manning, Ryan Delaney, Shane Wylde, Conor Tierney with Niall Dunne, Eanna Kennedy and Thomas O Connor on the bench. The game started at a slow pace and Celtic took a while to get into gear. The wind was upsetting any football being played but celtic eventually got the ball on the deck and started to play some delightful first time football. The breakthrough came after 15 mins when some great one touch football between Jack Foran , Shane Wylde and Gavin Walsh up the right side gave Gavin some space and he delivered a suplime cross for Ryan Delaney to finish with a volley with outside of his left foot from 10 yards. Celtic took control from here and played a brand of football that was way beyond there years they were tearing Forth apart at times and went 2 0 up when Eoin Rhodes played Shane Wylde in who blasted a fine finish into the roof of the net to continue his good form and recent scoring run. Forth were on the rack at this stage and Celtic scored again from a corner when Jack Foran rose highest to nod the ball back for Liam Hennesy to drill into the back of the net. Forth to there credit continued to play football and nearly pulled one back just before half time when they struck the crossbar from distance but Cian had it covered if it was on target. Celtic went in 3 0 at the break. Celtic started the second half slowly and were going through the motions at times and Forth sensed this and put the home defence under some pressure for the first time in the game. Jack , Liam, Dunny and Sean stood up to it and Paul Manning was starting to get some tackles in the middle of the park. Celtic now began to play again and got a fourth when Eoin Rhodes made a surging run amd pulled a delightful ball back to Conor Tierney who finished well. The game as a contest was over now but Celtic wanted more. Changes were made and Niall replaced Ryan, Eanna replaced Sean and Thomas made his under 16 debut replacing Shane. The fresh introduction of players put a spring into the home side again with the subs wanting to prove a point to the manager. Celtic made it 5 shortly afterwards with some good work down the right between Jack and Gavin who feed Eoin Rhodes who eventually got the goal that he was looking for all day with a great finish. Celtic then added a sixth late on when a cross was played over from the left for Thomas O Connor to control sublimly even Messi like and laid it on a plate for Conor Tierney to pass it into the net. 6 0 in the end to keep up there 100% start to the season. Lets keep it goimg now and push on even more!! A big thanks again to parents and anyone who came to support the boys your support is really appreciated and with the type of football that is being played i am sure you will continue to follow them. COME ON THE CELTS!!!!!!!

Under 11 Div 1 - New Ross Celtic 3 Moyne Rangers 0
This was a fine win for this ever improving side who recovered from a slow start to completely dominate affairs. The first ten minutes were almost totally played out in the Celtic half except for one breakaway which saw Joseph Lawal give a hint of what was to come with a scorching run which was only denied by the Rangers keeper at the expense of a corner. The defence of Anthony O'Connor, Aaron Nolan, Patrick Richardson and Craig McDonald and goalkeeper John Grace were magnificent in the face of the constant pressure which allowed the midfield quartet of Joseph Lawal, Tristan O'Neill, Aaron Flynn and Rory O'Connor to eventually wrest control with some excellent passing and direct running had the away side at sixes and sevens at times. One of these fine passages of play saw Craig McDonald set Joseph Lawal free up the left wing with an astute pass and he raced behind the Moyne defence before teeing up Rory O'Connor for a superb finish. This goal seemed to totally knock the visitors out of their stride and only excellent goalkeeping kept the score at one nil at the break as he denied Rory O'Connor, Joseph Lawal and Keane Walsh in swift succession. The domination of the young Celts became even more pronounced in the second half with Keane Walsh excelling as a lone striker and the midfield pouring through in support constantly. The second goal belonged to Joseph Lawal as he took on the away defenders before finishing superbly. This was soon followed by a third as Aaron Flynn and Rory O'Connor combined brilliantly to contrive another opening for Joseph as he calmly slotted home. The away keeper was performing heroics at this stage as he denied Rory O'Connor from a free, Anthony O'Connor from another free and Craig McDonald, John Grace and Tristan O'Neill with snap shots as the home side continued to dazzle with their intricate interpassing.

Under 10 - Corach Ramblers 5 New Ross Celtic 0
New Ross Celtic travelled to this game short a few regulars to face an impressive Corach side that took the lead within two minutes of the start thanks to a wicked deflection and never looked back. The second goal also owed itself to a large slice of luck as a hopeful ball found it's way to the net. In truth the scoreline could have been much worse but for the heroics of Ryan Gardiner in the Celtic goal and the tenacious defending of Jamie Malone, Dean Flynn, Dean Bookle and Ryan Kielthy. That is not to say that the match was entirely one way traffic with Arran Kinsella, Dominic Bodo and Ryan Kehoe impressing in midfield and attacking the home side at every opportunity but lady luck never smiled on their efforts despite the best efforts of the marauding Liam Bolger Hynes and the tireless running of Thomas Egan. All in all, this was a hard days work for the boys but it's fair to say that each and everyone stuck manfully to their task despite the final scoreline.

Under 11 Div 1 - Shelburne 2 New Ross Celtic 3
This was a very hard earned win for the Celts who continued their fine run of form against a resolute Shelburne side who always looked dangerous from setpieces. The first half saw the visitors totally dominate possession with Joseph Lawal, Rory O'Connor and Kyle McGrath constantly keeping the homesters on the defensive. Despite all the possession all Celtic had to show for their dominance were a couple of speculative shots from Joseph Lawal which flew over the bar. A fine save from the Shelburne keeper from a Kyle McGrath shot was as close as the away side came before a rare breakaway saw the home side claim a corner from which they grabbed an undeserved lead. Not to be deterred the Ross lads came roaring back and a Rory O'Connor corner which the keeper dropped allowed the impressive Keane Walsh finish smartly to send both sides in at the break level. The second half saw the home side enjoy a period of dominance and another corner caused havoc in the Celts defence which the home side managed to scramble home. Celtic looked rattled by this score and a super save from John Grace prevented Shelburne increasing their lead. Gradually the boys settled back into their rhythm mainly thanks to some great defensive work by Anthony O'Connor, Aaron Flynn and Craig McDonald. Tristan O'Neill and Keane Walsh were working their socks off up front and a quick clearance out of defence saw Keane Walsh take on and beat three defenders before coolly slotting the ball past the home keeper for a great equaliser. The combination play of Kyle McGrath, Joseph Lawal and Rory O'Connor was a joy to behold at times and one fine fine run by Rory took him behind the defence before laying the ball back for Joseph to crash home an unstoppable volley and claim all three points for the visitors.

Under 11 Div 3a - Moyne Rangers 0 New Ross Celtic 5
Celtic continued their impressive form with this fine win over Moyne Rangers. Stright from the first whistle Celtic took the initiative with Tristan O'Neill and Mike Chapman combining to great effect in midfield and creating chances at will. Dean Flynn set Jake O'Gorman away with a super through pass which he finished brilliantly to the corner of the net. Moyne did enjoy periods of possession during the first half but the defence of Jamie Malone, Aaron Flynn and Dean Bookle mopped up anything the home side could muster while Ryan Gardiner's handling was impeccable throughout. The second half saw Celtic's domination reach new levels and a second goal was becoming more and more inevitable when another fine pass from Dean Flynn allowed Oskar Tomczynski to get behind the home defence to finish coolly. Jake O'Gorman and Tristan O'Neill were peppering the Rangers goal with shots with one of Jake's shots crashing off the post for Oskar Tomczynski to bag a second goal. Indeed the margin could have been far greater as the Ross boys hit the woodwork FIVE times during the match. An Oskar Tomczynski pass to Arran Kinsella allowed Arran to take on the entire defence before finishing superbly. Mike Chapman was next to take on the entire defence but was unlucky to be forced wide while rounding the goalkeeper and was denied the goal his performance deserved. The scoring was completed by Arran Kinsella just on the final whistle as he struck a rocket of a shot to the Moyne net.

New Ross Celtic U16 v Moyne U 16
The under 16s travelled to Enniscorthy today to face one of their main rivals for the title in dreadful conditions. The game started well for Celtic even though they were again a gale force wind but played some good football, passing and moving when possible.Celtic were on top in all areas of the field but were dealt a blow early on when Paul Manning had to be replaced by Conor Tierney after 20 minutes because of a hamstring injury. Ryan Delaney moved to centre of the field and began to influence the game from there with some great tackles and winning every header. Just as Celtic were in control Moyne broke against the run of play when Donnacha o Connor sliced a clearence as much because of conditions as anything the ball broke and the Moyne striker stroked it past Cian O Donohoe in the Ross goal. This goal very much against the run of play seemed to spur Ross on and within minutes of the restart Celtic were level. William Treacy was put through one on one with the keeper and even though he went slightly wide finished into the corner of the net with style . Again this showed the character of this team and there never say die attitude. The teams went in one a piece at half time. The second half began with Moyne coming more into the game and had some half chances which Cian dealt with and the back four of Jack Foran, Donnacha O Connor, Liam Hennesy and Sean Duffy were on top in most areas.Celtic were awarded a free kick after 60 minutes which Donnacha struck the bar with from 30 yards with the keeper beaten. Celtic were on top in every area now and were the team pushing for the winner and were getting joy down the right and left wings with Gavin Walsh and Conor Tierney enjopying plenty of possesion and tormenting the full backs of Moyne. Ryan Delaney was commanding the midfield and Eoin Rhodes goin on some great powerful runs from midfield and overpowering the home sides midfielders. Eoin was took out a couple of times but just dusted himself down and got on with it!!!! which makes a change but helped his own game and he produced his best performance of the season. Shane Wylde who got his first start of the season worked his socks off up front and the winning goal came from some great work from Shane closing down the defender and Eoin was played in one on one with keeper and slotted it home with 10 minutes to play. Moyne pushed for the equaliser in the last few minutes and struck the post with minutes remaining but the Celtic defence stood up to everything that was thrown at them and recorded a great victory. A great team performance on the day and in terrible conditions.Great to get back to winning ways after a blip last week in the SFAI. Again a big thank you to all parents who drove today and stood on the sideline and cheered us on in terrible conditions it is really appreciated by all the boys . Another great 3 points today and lets keep it going now boys. COME ON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Under 12 Div 2a - Gorey Rangers 2nd 1 New Ross Celtic 6
New Ross Celtic cruised to the top of the league with this emphatic win over a Gorey Rangers side who had enjoyed a 100% record up to this defeat. Celtic started the match with the wind and rain driving them on and the home side struggled to even reach the halfway line for most of the half. Rory O'Connor set the tone for the match with a great run at the heart of the Rangers defence before finishing brilliantly. This was swiftly added to by the ever dangerous Keane Walsh as he took advantage of a neat pass from Joseph Lawal. Celtic were pouring all over the hosts at this stage and a thrilling run from Eoin Burke took him past a number of defenders before he offloaded to Joseph Lawal who finished smartly. The defence of the stylish Anthony O'Connor and Adam Bookle and the impressive Craig McDonald totally stifled the home attack while the two midfield Generals Kyle McGrath and Conor Walsh controlled the match with their intelligent passing. Joseph Lawal were tearing the opposition to shreds with his sheer athleticism and another surging run saw him scorch behind the defence and set up Rory O'Connor for his second. The second half threatened to be a totally different game with the gale force breeze now favouring the Gorey boys but Ger Berry and Patrick Richardson were outstanding against the elements. Celtic always looked dangerous on the break and a slick one-two between the excellent Josh O'Leary and Rory O'Connor saw Rory race clear of the defence to claim a quality hat trick. Rangers grabbed a consolation shortly after as they converted a penalty awarded for a push in the box. Indeed, the home side could have doubled their tally but for an outstanding save from Kyle Gardiner as he bravely stood his ground with the attacker beared down on goal. A truly top class move before the end saw Celtic claim a sixth goal as Joseph Lawal sent Rory O'Connor scorching away from the defence before delivering a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Joseph who finished superbly to the corner of the net.
New Ross Celtic: Kyle Gardiner, Eoin Burke ( Patrick Richardson ), Anthony O'Connor, Adam Bookle, Craig McDonald ( Ger Berry ), Kyle McGrath, Joseph Lawal, Rory O'Connor, Conor Walsh, Josh O'Leary, Keane Walsh ( Aaron Flynn )

Under 10 - New Ross Celtic 0 St Leonards 3
The level of improvement shown by this team can be judged by the fact that last year Celtic lost 9-0 to the same opposition. In this match, played in miserable conditions the Ross lads gave as good as they got for large tracts of the match and were most unlucky not to have claimed a consolation score on a few occasions. The visitors started with the gale to their backs and proceeded to lay siege to the home goal. With Ryan Gardiner in outstanding form in the goal and the defence of Jamie Malone, James Callaghan and Ryan Kielthy performing heroics St Leonards found it very hard to make headway. Indeed exceptional approach play between Arran Kinsella and Dominic Bodo saw Thomas Egan race clear of the defence only to be foiled by the visiting keeper. Shortly afterwards a poor clearance by Celtic saw the away side take the lead . This was quickly followed by a second as a speculative cross found it's way to the top corner of the home side's net. The second half was a far more even game as the midfield of Dean Flynn, Matej Stepanek and Travis Phillips showed some lovely touches allowing Oskar Tomczynski and Liam Bolger Hynes the chance to put the Leonards defence under increasing pressure. Indeed the Ross lads were most unfortunate not to have grabbed the goal their efforts deserved. St Leonards still managed to look dangerous on the break but the impressive Dean Bookle in goal and Conor Murphy in defence repelled every attack until an unlucky deflection in the home defence allowed the away forward finish smartly to hand the home side an undeserved 3-0 defeat.
New Ross Celtic: Ryan Gardiner, Ryan Kielthy, Jamie Malone, Jamees Callaghan, Arran Kinsella, Dominic Bodo, Dean Bookle, Thomas Egan, Oskar Tomczynski, Dean Flynn, Matej Stepanek, Travis Phillips, Liam Bolger Hynes, Conor Murphy

Under 14 SFAI Cup - New Ross Celtic 6 Bunclody 0
Celtic started off this game, appropriately enough, in whirlwind fashion and took the lead within 2 minutes as a superbly struck corner from the right by Thomas O'Connor was met by the head of Keith O'Leary, who caused the away side endless problems down the right. The home side threatened to tear the visiting defence apart at times but a swift counter attack was only thwarted by a last ditch tackle by the impressive David O'Connor. Another fine interception by goalkeeper Dean Katus, whose handling was excellent throughout, prevented the plucky Bunclody side from equalising shortly afterwards and there was a collective sigh of relief when Michael Kelly's fine shot was saved by the goalkeeper but was smartly finished to the net by Ciaran St Ledger. After this the Ross lads settled into their rhythm with Sean Duffy, Jack Gaynord and Stuart Frizelle mopping up anything the away side could throw at them while Dylan Wickham was causing no end of problems with his intelligent passing, ably assisted by debut boy Alan Murray. A flowing move created the opening for Ciaran St Ledger to flash a well struck shot over the head of the advancing keeper. If the move for the third goal was flowing, the passing which preceded the fourth goal was almost Brazilian culminating in a sweet finish from the edge of the box from Michael Kelly. The second half saw the home side facing into the gale force breeze and driving rain and a determined visiting side coming more and more into the game. However another well driven corner from Thomas O'Connor was crashed to the net by Ciaran St Ledger to complete a memorable hattrick. Patrick Richardson, on his first appearrance at this level, showed some excellent touches to belie his tender years. The scoring was completed by Thomas O'Connor who picked himself up off the ground after a searing run at the heart of the defence was brought to a premature end to slot home the resultant penalty.

Under 11 Div 3a - New Ross Celtic 3 Stoney Rovers 0
This was a tough competitive encounter between two sides high on confidence played in gale force conditions. The previously unbeaten Rovers side had the benefit of the gale in the first half and managed to force a couple of fine stops from Dean Bookle whose handling was immaculate at all times yet again. In front of Dean Aaron Nolan was like a man mountain as he repelled each attack while Jamie Malone was outstanding in the left back position. Luke Nolan was another to shine in defence with some crunching tackles and astute passes. Tristan O'Neill, Aaron Flynn, Mike Chapman and Arran Kinsella were a bundle of energy in midfield as the visitors struggled to cope with their interplay even against the stormy conditions while Jake O'Gorman, Dominic Bodo and Oskar Tomczynski were a constant threat. The signs looked ominous for Stoney when half time was reached with neither goal being breeched and so it proved as Tristan O'Neill let fly a rasping shot which crashed off the underside of the crossbar and was finished with aplomb by the ever alert Jake O'Gorman. The same combination were at it again shortly after as Tristan O'Neill forced the keeper into a fine save but again Jake O'Gorman was on hand to fire home. Ryan Gardiner was excelling in his midfield role with his neat footwork and intelligent passing while Dean Flynn worked his socks off for the jersey. Mike Chapman energetic display received it's just reward just before the end as he hounded the defence into an error which he coolly punished to wrap up a fine team performance which sees the boys sitting proudly at the top of the table.
New Ross Celtic: Dean Bookle, Luke Nolan, Aaron Nolan, Jamie Malone, Aaron Flynn, Tristan O'Neill, Mike Chapman, Jake O'Gorman, Arran Kinsella, Dominic Bodo, Oskar Tomczynski, Dean Flynn, Ryan Gardiner

Under 12 Div 2a - New Ross Celtic 8 Bridge Rovers 2
New Ross Celtic maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a facile win over a brave Bridge Rovers side who started very brightly to take advantage of early slackness in the home defence to grab a shock lead. This start seemed to shake the Ross lads and but for soem fine goalkeeping by Kyle Gardiner things could have got much worse. Slowly but surely the outstanding Anthony O'Connor and Diarmuid Kehoe took control of the game and with fullbacks Eoin Burke and Craig McDonald raiding down the wings the rest of the half became one way traffic with Adam Bookle, Kyle McGrath, Kyle Dwyer and Josh O'Leary impressing with their intricate passing while Joseph Lawal, not for the first time, terrorised the visitor's defence with his mazy dribbling. Goal poacher supreme Keane Walsh was the one to equalise as he capitalised on a fine run and shot by Josh O'Leary to tap home the rebound. Kyle Dwyer eased the home side into the lead a short time later as he found the corner of the net with an excellent strike and this was quickly followed by a solo effort from Joseph Lawal who lead the Rovers defence a merry dance before crashing the ball past the bemused goalkeeper. Bridge Rovers almost grabbed a second midway through the half but for a stunning block by Anthony O'Connor who dived fulllength to deny the Rover's striker as he seemed to have the goal at his mercy. Shortly after, Adam Bookle claimed the goal his overall performance deserved to put Celtic 4-1 up before Joseph Lawal bagged his second just before the break. The second half continued in much the same vein with Ger Berry and Conor Walsh a constant thorn in the side of the visitors. Indeed it was Ger Berry who was next on the scoresheet as he finished smartly. A rare breakaway by the visitors saw them grab a second goal but the homesters reasserted their authority on proceedings with Aaron Flynn, Patrick Richardson and Dean Murphy putting in trojan work. A smart strike from Eoin Burke saw the Ross lads into a 7-2 lead and fittingly it was Kyle McGrath who grabbed a deserved goal just before the final whistle to close out the scoring for the day.
New Ross Celtic: Kyle Gardiner, Eoin Burke, Anthony O'Connor, Diarmuid Kehoe, Craig McDonald, Kyle McGrath, Adam Bookle, Kyle Dwyer, Joseph Lawal, Keane Walsh, Josh O'Leary, Conor Walsh, Ger Berry, Aaron Flynn, Dean Murphy, Patrick Richardson

Under 10 - Adamstown 3 New Ross Celtic 4
Celtic maintained their rich vein of form with a hardfought win over a gallant Adamstown side in a match played in miserable conditions. The first half proved a very tight affair as both teams matched each other well in every position. The homesters were the first team to settle and took the lead after ten minutes. This was cancelled out minutes later as Ryan Gardiner crashed home a great goal. Defences were on top for the most part in the first half with Jamie Malone, James Callaghan and Matej Stepanek defending superbly for Ross and Dean Bookle faultless in goal. It was noticeable after the equalising goal that the Celtic midfield of Dominic Bodo, Ryan Kielthy and Arran Kinsella were taking control of affairs with their strong running and excellent passing. This trend became very pronounced at the start of the second half as Celtic snatched two quick goals through the impressive Rory Flanagan and all action Arran Kinsella. Complacency seemed to creep in to the away side's game at this stage and two pieces of slack play saw Adamstown come storming back into the match. With Ryan Gardiner performing heroics in goal and Conor Murphy, Liam Bolger Hynes and Dean Flynn excelling, Celtic managed to steady the ship and reassert their control on proceedings. Travis Phillips, Thomas Egan and Cian Kielthy were others to shine and a winning goal was long overdue when Dean Bookle struck the decisive blow just short of the final whistle.
New Ross Celtic: Dean Bookle, Ryan Gardiner, James Callaghan, Jamie Malone, Ryan Kielthy, Arran Kinsella, Dominic Bodo, Rory Flanagan, Dean Flynn, Thomas Egan, Matej Stepanek, Travis Phillips, Conor Murphy, Liam Bolger Hynes, Cian Kielthy

SFAI.New Ross Celtic U16 v St Micheals U 16
New Ross Celtic U16 3 Sy Micheals U16 1.
The under 16s travelled to Tipperary town today to play there first game of the season in the opening round of the SFAI cup where they played St micheals. Celtic travelled with a depleted panel as some players were away for the day but the players who turned up done themmselves and the club proud.
The game started at a good tempo with celtic playing some great one and two touch football from the outset. Celtic took a deserved lead after 10 minutes. A great play between Owen Rhodes and Liam Hennessy in the middle of the park when Owen split the defence to put Gavin Walsh to the byline who in turn crossed suplimly to Cian O Donohoe who glanced a great header into the corner of the net leaving the keeper with little chance. Celtic were the team on top now and pushed hard to get a second goal. Gavin and Paul Manning were causing havoc down the wings with Ryan Delaney and Eanna Kennedy overlapping when the opportunnity arised.
It took St Micheals twenty minutes to register there first shot on goal Danieles Niekes stopping easily. Celtic had a lot of possesion coming up to half time put could not find the killer pass to create any clear cut chances. The half time whistle came with celtic leading 1 - 0.
The second half started with St Micheals on top and were beginning to show what a good team they were and why they won the Tipperary league last season. Micheals drew level after 55 minutes when celtic were beginning to get a foothold in the second half. Liam Hennessy lost possesion on the half way the Micheals midfielder split the Celtic defence to leave Danieles one on one and the Micheals forward made no mistake slotting the chance away.
This rattled the Celtic side and but for some great defending from Jack Foran and Donnacha O Coonor Celtic could of found themselves behind. They eventally clawed there way back into the game.Celtic got back to what they do best with some outstanding first touch play which had Micheals chasing shadows at times and there play got there just rewards on the 65 minute when some great interplay beween Paul Manning, Gavin Walsh set up Owen Rhodes who smashed a great strike off the under side of the crossbar and into the net to make it 2 - 1.
Celtic were really bossing proceedings now and nearly made it 3 whem Liam Hennessy hit the crossbar from outside the area. Micheals were playing long balls at this stage but it worked for them on 72 mins when Danieles had to pull off two world class saves to keep Celtic ahead.
Other than that chance Celtic were comfortable keeping possession really well. On 75 minutes Gavin swung a cross come shot from the right which the Micheals keeper done well to tip over. From the resulting corner Dunnacha O Connor rose highest nodded it down and Corner Tierney swivelled to get the goal his hard work deserved. Ross played out the rest of the game knowing they had done enough for victory.
It was a great win for the team with stretched resources and hopefully sets the tone for this team this year. If they continue to play this brand of passing football they will be a joy to watch and will be competing for "ALL" trophies this year!!!!! Finally a word of thanks from the management to all parents who drove the long journey to Tipperary today.
COME ON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Under 11 Div 1 - Crossabeg 2 New Ross Celtic 10
This match proved a stroll for Celtic as they totally dominated the opposition from the start and rarely allowed them a sniff at their own goal. From the first whistle the Rossonians looked dangerous and it was no suprise when Tristan O'Neill finished off a fine move to open the scoring. This was closely followed by some great footwork from Keane Walsh and ended with a fine finish. The lead was added to shortly after as Tristan O'Neill crashed the ball to the corner of the net. Poor Dean Bookle was largely redundant during the first half thanks to great defensive work by Patrick "Pappa" Richardson, Aaron Nolan and Craig McDonald. Joseph Lawal was causing havoc in the home defence with his surging runs and he was next to get on the scoresheet with a fine strike. Celtic were rampant at this stage and Keane Walsh bagged a second before the break as the visitors soared to a 5-0 half time lead. The second half started with the Ross lads very much resting on their laurels and Crossabeg came more and more into the play with some fine passing and two stunning strikes were just rewards for their efforts. This only served to shake the away team back into their stride and Aaron Flynn started to run at the home defence with great effect. The Rory O'Connor show came to town at this stage and he crashed in three great goals in the space of ten minutes including one stunning effort. Not to be outdone, Tristan O'Neill completed his hattrick with a superb header from a Patrick Richardson corner. Rather fittingly, it was left to the excellent Joseph Lawal to complete the scoring with a bullet of a shot which almost tore the net off the goalposts. This was a fine effort by the New Ross lads though harder tests are sure to be faced in the near future.
New Ross Celtic: Dean Bookle, Patrick Richardson, Aaron Nolan, Craig McDonald, Rory O'Connor, Aaron Flynn, Joseph Lawal, Keane Walsh, Tristan O'Neill

Under 11 Div 3a - Wexford Albion 3rd 2 New Ross Celtic 5
The Ross lads maintained their pole position in this league with a hardfought win over a game Wexford Albion side who never stopped trying to the end. In the first half Celtic enjoyed the advantage of the notorious "hill" and besieged the home defence but found the home keeper in outstanding form. Dean Bookle who was dangerous throughout the first half finished from close in to set the Celtic boys on the road while a superb effort from Jake O'Gorman found the top corner of the Albion net to send the away side in at the break two goals up. A feature of the half was the strong running of Aaron Flynn and Tristan O'Neill while Arran Kinsella waas another to work tirelessly in the engine room. The question at half time was whether this lead would suffice as the Wexford lads were sure to come storming back with the "hill" to aid them in the second half. And so it proved, as attack after attack poured in on Dean Bookle. Eventually the home side achieved a breakthrough with a controversial goal but this only served to galvanise the Celtic lads whose defence of Aaron Nolan, Luke Nolan and Jamie Malone reasserted their control and laid the platform for the visitors to come raring back into the game with two superb goals from Dominic Bodo and Jake O'Gorman again. Indeed only the goalkeeper denied Dominic his hattrick and he caused the Albion lads all sorts of headaches. Adam Kinsella and Dean Flynn were excellent in attack while the hardtackling Ryan Kehoe covered every blade of grass. Ryan Gardiner put in a tireless shift on the right wing and although Albion claimed a secong goal it was fitting the Jake O'Gorman completed his hattrick to ensure the Celtic kids sit proudly at the top of the table.

Under 14 Div 1 - New Ross Celtic 4 St Leonards 1
Celtic's Under 14s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable victory over St Leonards. The opening stages proved even enough with defences on top for the most part though the homesters were already looking the more dangerous in front of goal and it was Dean Nolan who grabbed the opening goal with a fine finish after a lapse in the visiting defence. This score was quickly wiped out by Leonards as they capitalised on slackness in the homeside. For the majority of the half things remained finely balanced until a fine one-two between the excellent Michael Kelly and Thomas O'Connor opened up the away side and allowed Thomas to finish with aplomb. With Dean Katus in dominant form between the posts and the defence of Sean Duffy, Jack Gaynord, Stuart Frizelle and the oputstanding David O'Connor gaining a stranglehold on proceedings the visitors started to fad out of the game and it came as no surprise when Dylan Wickham grabbed a third goal with a cracking half volley just before the break. This goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of St Leonards and the Ross lads created chance after the chance in the second half despite only grabbing one more goal through midfield dynamo Keith "Monkey" O'Leary. Indeed the visitors goal lead a charmed existence as Thomas O'Connor, twice, and Sean Duffy cracked shots off the woodwork. This was a fine team performance from the boys with Evan Lee and Ciaran St Ledger very much to the fore.

Under 12 Div 2a - New Ross Celtic 2 Newpark Utd 2
New Ross Celtic's unbeaten start to the league was tested to the full by a well organised Newpark outfit in this match played in atrocius weather conditions. Torrential rain was the order of the day as the young Celts had to come from behind to claim a well deserved draw. The visitors took the game to the home side from the start and only excellent work at the back from Eoin Burke and Craig McDonald managed to hold the north county lads scoreless. The Ross lads looked dangerous on the break however and a superb through ball sent Keane Walsh racing in on goal to finish coolly to the right corner of the net. Indeed were it not for the efficiency of the away side's offside trap a ramapant home team with Rory O'Connor and Ger Berry pulling the strings could have had three or four before Newpark equalised with a stunning strike which gave the otherwise excellent Kyle Gardiner no chance. Shortly afterwards a poor clearance allowed the visitors to send another scorcher past the keeper to send Celtic in at the break trailing 2-1. Indeed things could have been much worse but for an amazing goalline clearance by Diarmuid Kehoe when he stopped another rocket with his head. The second half saw Celtic play much better as they dominated proceedings from the restart. Anthony O'Connor was coolness personified at the back while in midfield Joseph Lawal terrified Newparkwith his pacy runs. Aaron Flynn was another to cause havoc with his pace with Conor Walsh covering every blade of grass on the pitch. An equalising goal was long overdue when incessant pressure from Kyle Dwyer on the defence caused the ball to end up in the net to the delight of the home following. With Kyle McGrath constantly probing with some fine passing Aaron Flynn found himself outpacing the away defenders only to be denied by a superb save by the visiting keeper. For all the pressure exerted by Celtic they could have been denied at the death but for a superb clearance by Craig McDonald. All in all then, a fair result in a game of two halves which saw both teams enjoy long periods of domination.

Under 11 Div 3a - New Ross Celtic 4 Gorey Celtic 2
New Ross Celtic continued their impressive start to the season with an excellent victory against a game Gorey Celtic side who never gave up to the end. Celtic came racing out of the blocks to claim an early lead as Oskar Tomczynski continued his fine scoring form of last week with a very smart finish. A momentary lapse in concentration allowed the visitors a soft equaliser. This only served to sharpen the concentration in the home defence where Jamie Malone, Luke and Aaron Nolan proceeded to turn in top class performances while Keane Walsh was faultless in goal. These performances allowed the midfield of Tristan O'Neill, Aaron Flynn, Arran Kinsella and Dean Flynn to take control of the match and it came as no surprise when Oskar Tomczynski bagged yet another fine finish before half time to send Celtic in at the break 2-1 ahead. With Dylan Doyle impressing on his debut, it was only a matter of time before another debut boy, Dean Flynn, capped his first appearrance with an excellent finish. The visitors were starting to pile on the pressure at this stage at they tried bravely to get back into the match but a breakaway by the pacy Celtic boys saw Arran Kinsella finish smartly to give the Ross lads a commanding 4-1 lead. Despite this setback Gorey Celtic continued to battle hard and they claimed a deserved second goal five minutes before the end but it the the homesters who saw out the rest of the game comfortably enough to claim top spot in the division.

Under 11 Div 1- New Ross Celtic 3 Gorey Rangers 4
New Ross Celtic 3 Gorey Rangers 4
Facing Gorey Rangers at the best of times is always an awkward proposition but having to do so minus TEN players is a daunting prospect. Nevertheless Celtic put up a very brave performance and indeed took the lead midway through the first half with a super strike by Rory O'Connor. Indeed Celtic had two shots cleared off the line before this despite the visitors enjoying a large chunk of the possession. With Anthony O'Connor, Keane Walsh and Aaron Nolan putting in sterling performances at the back it took a superb goal to breach the back line just before half time and send both teams in at the break level. The start of the second half saw the Gorey lads take control of the match despite outstanding saves from Dean Bookle in goal, Rangers took a commanding 4-1 lead with ten minutes left on the clock and the home side looking increasingly deflated. At this stage a drubbing looked very much on the cards but Joseph Lawal, Tristan O'Neill and Aaron Flynn battled their way bacck into the game claiming another super goal through Rory O'Connor. From casually seeing out the game, the visitors were now at panic stations and an excellent run up the left wing and cross saw Arran Kinsella finish neatly to the corner of the net. Gorey were like a boxer hanging onto the ropes at this stage and Joseph Lawal produced a stunning half volley which seemed destined for the back of the net but instead shaved the outside of the post and with it went Celtic's last chance of claiming a share of the spoils.

Under 12 Div 2A....Bunclody 1 - 1 New Ross Celtic
Even with only one round of matches already played in this Division this tie could be considered a top of the table clash as two of the favourites for honours clashed at the excellently appointed Bunclody grounds. For much of the game defences were very much on top in this excellent match with Eoin Burke, Anthony O’Connor, Josh O’Leary, Tristan O’Neill and Aaron Flynn defending stoutly throughout despite being tested to the limit by a speedy home attack while Kyle Gardiner’s handling was immaculate at all times in goal. In truth, neither goalkeeper was tested in the first half despite the best efforts of Rory O’Connor, Fred Onowhona and Joseph Lawal who worked tirelessly throughout while Kyle McGrath and Ger Berry held the ball up to great effect against a very strong home defence. With Kyle Dwyer performing very well upfront for the visitors and Keane Walsh showing up well in an unfamiliar position in midfield the Celts were most unlucky not to test the home keeper. With ten minutes left in the game the home side took advantage of a rare piece of indecision in the away defence to claim what looked like a certain winner but that was to count without the resilience of this never say die team. With only two minutes left on the clock Ger Berry swung in a tremendous corner which broke to Joseph Lawal who smashed the ball home for a super strike with his supposed weaker foot to send the visitors home well contented with their share of the spoils.

Under 10....New Ross Celtic 6 - 1 New Ross Town
For the third time in three weeks Celtic faced their neighbours in League action and yet again it was New Ross Celtic who came out on top. The first half was even enough as both teams felt each other and it was the excellent Oskar Tomczynski who separated the two teams at half time with two very well taken goals. This lead was soon added to after the break as the energetic Arran Kinsella who caused havoc all day for the visitors claimed a third goal, which was soon followed by a super goal from Ryan Gardiner who was rock solid all day at the back alongside the impressive James Callaghan and Conor Murphy. In goal, Dean Bookle had very little to do but what he did was the definition of competence while Ryan Kielthy, Travis Phillips and Matej were excellent throughout the pitch. Thomas Egan was next to get his name on the score sheet having covered every blade of grass on the pitch before Dominic Bodo grabbed a late goal to close the scoring at 6-1, a just reward for his fine efforts. Indeed, things could have got even worse for the away side but Cian Kielthy was very unlucky not to claim his first ever goal in a Celtic shirt before the end.

Under 14 Div 1 - New Ross Celtic 7 Curracloe 1
Under 14 Div 1
New Ross Celtic 7 Curracloe 1
New Ross Celtic’s under 14s certainly laid down a marker for the new season with a crushing victory over Curracloe. The quality of the football played by Celtic was a joy to behold at times as the lads stroked the ball around straight from the off with great aplomb. With Evan Lee and Dean Nolan working their socks off up front and holding the ball up to great effect, it was only a matter of time before the increasingly dominant homesters showed their dominance on the scoreline. Indeed, when the breech was made the goals flowed regularly for the rest of the half with Thomas O’Connor, Sean Duffy, Dylan Wickham and Keith “Monkey” O’Leary all getting on the score sheet before the break with Keith’s goal the pick of the bunch. With Dylan Murray a bundle of tricks on the wing and Anthony O’Connor impressing on his debut Celtic continued to take the game to their opponents in the second half. A much underrated facet of this team is the defence where Dean Katus grows in stature with every passing fixture while Jack Gaynord, Stuart Frizelle and David O’Connor created such an impenetrable barrier that fellow defender Sean Duffy was allowed the latitude to complete his hat trick in the second half. The scoring was completed by Thomas O’Connor as the home side ran out comprehensive 7-1 victors.

Under 11 Div 3a - New Ross Town 0 New Ross Celtic 4
Under 11 Div 3a
New Ross Town 1st 0 New Ross Celtic 2nd 4
For the second week in succession New Ross Celtic faced up to their local rivals in the Wexford and District League and yet again it was Celtic who claimed bragging rights with a comprehensive victory in the opening game of the Under 11 season. From the kick off Celtic swarmed all over their opponents with Patrick Richardson and Mike Chapman pulling the strings in midfield and it came as no surprise when Dean Murphy grabbed the opening goal, which flew into the net passed a bewildered home goalkeeper for a super goal. Not satisfied with their lead, the visitors continued to torment the homesters and the very dangerous Arran Kinsella doubled the lead midway through the first half with a sweet effort. With Aaron Nolan, Aaron Flynn and Jamie Malone majestic at the back Town continued to wilt as the half wore on and another goal was well overdue when Dominic Bodo was on hand to sweep home from close in to leave Celtic ahead at half time on a 3-0 scoreline. Poor Dean Bookle was next to redundant in goal in the first half so the impressive Ryan Gardiner took his place allowing Dean to try his luck upfront where he proceeded to crash the ball off the crossbar after half time. Jake O’Gorman was another to be very unlucky with a number of efforts as Celtic never allowed the home side settle into a rhythm with Ryan Kehoe a bundle of energy in the middle of the park. It fell to the impressive Tristan O’Neill to finish the scoring as he crashed a super strike to the roof of the net to cap a very impressive team performance by the second string against Ross Town’s first team.
New Ross Celtic : Dean Bookle, Aaron Flynn, Aaron Nolan, Jamie Malone, Dean Murphy, Patrick Richardson, Mike Chapman, Tristan O’Neill, Arran Kinsella, Jake O’Gorman, Ryan Kehoe, Ryan Gardiner, Dominic Bodo

Under 12 Div 2a - New Ross Celtic 6 New Ross Town 2
UNDER 12 DIV 2a
New Ross Celtic 6 New Ross Town 2
The new season opened with an eagerly anticipated local derby against Town and straight from the start the Celtic lads set about their visitors in very businesslike fashion with Keane Walsh showing excellent predatory instincts to bag an early goal. Indeed Keane could have had a record quick hat trick if it wasn’t for the heroics of the visiting keeper as Joseph Lawal and Rory O’Connor toyed with the Town defence ably assisted by Conor Walsh and Eoin Burke and it came as no surprise when Keane added another midway through the half while Rory O’Connor cracked a 25 yard free kick off the crossbar with the keeper stranded.. A feature of the half was the performance of the defence where Anthony O’Connor and Diarmuid Kehoe were immense in the centre while Craig McDonald and Josh O’Leary dominated the flanks. Up front, the aforementioned Keane Walsh was a constant thorn in the Town defence while Kyle Dwyer held the ball up to great effect. Shortly before half time Joseph Lawal produced a super strike which flew into the net to send the home side in a half time with a comfortable 3-0 lead. The second half started in much the same vein with the young Celts dominating throughout and it came as no surprise when super sub Kyle McGrath was on hand to tap home a fourth goal. The home side seemed to sit back at this stage and allowed the visitors more space and time. Around the midpoint of the second half a savage deflection wrong footed Kyle Gardiner in goal, who had been superb throughout , and handed our local rivals a lifeline, which was followed shortly by an equally fortuitous effort to make the score a scarcely believeable 4-2 with ten minutes left in the game. At this stage, the defence started to settle again with Hubert Wilczynski in excellent form in the centre while the midfield now containing Tristan O’Neill and Aaron Flynn started to attack at the heart of the visiting defence and it came as no surprise that the frontline of Kyle McGrath and Adam Bookle were able to toy with the Ross Town defenders again. A superb move involving Tristan O’Neill and Joseph Lawal saw Kyle McGrath claim his second and his side’s fifth goal while a poor clearance from the goalkeeper saw Rory O’Connor fire in a shot which scorched the corner of the net to end the scoring and cap a fine performance by the young Celtic team, nine of whom are underage again next season.
New Ross Celtic: Kyle Gardiner, Josh O’Leary, Anthony O’Connor ( Hubert Wilczynski ) , Diarmuid Kehoe, Craig McDonald, Eoin Burke ( Tristan O‘Neill ) , Rory O’Connor, Joseph Lawal, Conor Walsh ( Aaron Flynn ), Keane Walsh ( Adam Bookle ), Kyle Dwyer ( Kyle McGrath )

Under 10 - Brave Celtic lose to Campile
UNDER 10
Campile 5 New Ross Celtic 0
Despite being short some of the mainstays of the team, New Ross Celtic produced a very brave performance against a well-drilled Campile outfit in the first round of the non-competitive Under 10 league. A very rusty start saw the home team race into a two goal lead but this failed to dishearten the young Celts who proceeded to turn in a very gutsy performance for the rest of the half with Ryan Kehoe covering every blade of grass on the pitch while Jamie Malone marshalled the defence to great effect. In goal, Dean Bookle produced a number of saves worthy of a senior player. The second half saw the Ross lads come more and more into the game as James Callaghan, Ryan Kielthy and Conor Murphy shone in defence while Ryan Gardiner now stood between the posts producing a few miracle stops into the bargain. In midfield Rory Flanagan, Ryan Kehoe and Dean Bookle started to take the game to the hosts while up front Thomas Egan and Travis Phillips battled bravely against the imposing home side. Halfway through the half Celtic produced another flowing move involving Ryan Kehoe and Dean Bookle ended with the Campile goalkeeper very lucky to prevent Dean claiming a more than deserved consolation score. Tiredness took it’s effect towards the end of the game and the home side ran out deserving 5-0 winners
New Ross Celtic: Dean Bookle, Ryan Gardiner, Ryan Kehoe, Conor Murphy, Ryan Kielthy, Travis Phillips, Thomas Egan, Jamie Malone, James Callaghan, Rory Flanagan

New Ross Celtic's School of Excellence for under age players, kicks off in miserable weather conditions.
Our school of excellence started last saturday in miserable conditions but over twenty under 10s showed up and enjoyed the session for outfield players taken by Will Doyle and Stephen O'Leary while Wayne Russell took the goalkeepers from our under 8 , 10,12 and 14 teams . The school strictly concentrates on the technical side of the game and it's aim is to improve the skill levels in all our age groups by bringing in specialist coaches each week . In order to ensure players receive as close to personal tuition as possible we will be involving senior players and other coaches so that a player's weaknesses can be identified and rectified. Next saturday, due to the SFAI games, we will be concentrating on our under 10s again with Wayne Russell taking the session at 2pm. The following week, it will be the turn of our under 12s and 16s. All the sessions are free for members. The sessions will be open to non-members in the future but for a fee. For further information contact Ger at 086 4040485.

Under 16 Ross Celtic 3 Wexford Celtic 1
Maybe I expect too much from this team but despite having beaten one of our rivals for honours this season I came away from this game with a sense of disappointment. In every game we have played we have shown major improvement from the previous one.....until this one. The fact the visitors were late arriving should not have affected us but looking back having been left waiting around I think it did. We were really slow to start and when skilful players struggle to control or make simple passes you fear the worst. When we did manage to put some passes together and work our way into good positions our crossing which had been exellent in our last game was letting us down. A 10 minute spell before half time when we looked more like ourselves was to prove crucial. An excellent pass from defence by Dean Kennedy found Darragh Treacy who laid the ball off to top scorer Mark Aylward to cooly finish keeping up his prolific goalscoring run. 5 minutes later Alan Rhodes again found space on the edge of the box and his sublime chip over the keeper into the top corner was a joy to behold. 2-0 up at half time. You hope that a comfortable two goal lead would allow players to relax and express themselves but in the second half we sat back and allowed the visitors into the game and when they reduced our lead it wasn't a surprise. We reacted well and after a shaky spell regained control and when sub John Halligans delected shot found the net we managed to see the game out to the end. Winning when not playing well is supposed to be a good sign but its sure not good for the nerves. Team;Brian Haberlin, James Barron(Jordan Kennedy),Dean Kennedy(Conor O Callaghan), Shane Kinsella, Conor Purcell, Ben Duffy, Alan Rhodes, Aaron Kinsella, Mark Aylward(Evan Marshall), Darragh Treacy(John Halligan), Ethan Butler.

Under 16 cup Ross Celtic 5 Ferns 2
A sparkling first half performance saw us through to the next round of the cup. An even first 15 minutes played mostly in midfield promised a tight game but the opening goal and a period of total dominance had us well clear by half time. Good work down the left and a super cross by Ethan Butler was headed home by Mark Aylward. We were now in complete control and an Alan Rhodes cross was finished by Ethan to put us 2-0 up. 2 more goals, carbon copies of the first, Ethan butler crosses finished by Mark Aylward had us 4-0 up at half time and gave Mark his second hat trick of the season. Early in the second half another Ethan cross was sidefooted home by Mark. Perhaps understandibly being 5-0 up and having made a couple of changes we slackened off and Ferns came more into the game and deservedly scored twice before the final whistle. A good performance especially in the first half and we are starting to get the winning habit. Team; Brian Haberlin, James Barron (Jordan Kennedy), Dean Kennedy, Shane Kinsella, Conor Purcell, Ben Duffy, Alan Rhodes, Aaron Kinsella, Mark Aylward (John Halligan), Darragh Treacy (Evan Marshall), Ethan Butler.

Under 16 Ross Celtic 2 Shamrock Rovers 0
The benefit of regular games was apparent as we improved hugely from our last game 2 weeks ago. Although we had to again make a couple of changes this was fairly close to our strongest line up. Right from the first whistle we dominated the game but a combination of a dogged visiting team and a heavy pitch meant we created few clear cut chances. Mark Aylward, Aaron Kinsella and Ethan Butler had attempts on goal without troubling the keeper. A poor clearance by the Rovers keeper was controlled in midfield by Aaron and from just inside their half he found the net with a super strike after 30 minutes.1-0 up at half time. We were slow to start the second half and the visitors enjoyed their best spell of the game, winning a couple of corners but creating nothing to worry our stand in keeper Matthew Purcell. As the half wore on we regained control and after Jack Saunders and Darragh Treacy went close we increased our lead when good passing and movement saw Darragh through on goal and he finished well having missed an easier one minutes earlier. We made a couple of changes but we were still making chances and could have scored a couple more before the end. A good performance to keep us in the shake up. Team;Matthew Purcell, James Barron, Robbie Muldoon(Conor Dempsey), Shane Kinsella(Niall O Callaghan), Ben Duffy, Darragh Treacy(Jordan Kennedy),Aaron Kinsella, Mark Aylward(Evan Marshall), Jack Saunders(John Halligan),Ethan Butler.

Under 16 Bunclody 2 Ross Celtic 4
After a long break without a game we were very slow to start against the spirited but limited home team. Again short a couple of our starting team including goalkeeper, center half and center forward we made 4 changes from our last game 7 weeks ago. The home side made the better start and pushed us back but when we managed to put some passes together we created chances and the first goal was going to be important.A perfectly flighted free kick by Shane Kinsella from the halfway line was headed home powerfully by Mark Aylward after 20 minutes to open the scoring. This settled us and we started to play better football but we were hit on the break after 30 minutes to level the scores.Immediately a long throw by Ethan Butler found Aaron Kinsella breaking from midfield and he finished to net to put us back ahead. 5 minutes later James Barron played a good ball to Mark Aylward in the box and he turned his marker and finished to the corner of the net. Just on half time Aaron Kinsella again broke from midfield onto a good pass and was taken down by the keeper but struck the post with the penalty to leave us 3-1 up at half time. The second half was all one way traffic as we totally dominated but all we had to show for it was another Mark Aylward goal to complete his hattrick. He also hit the post and Alan Rhodes crashed a volley off the bar as we failed to convert numerous chances. The home side did manage a late goal as they battled gamely to the end. Hopefully the weather will allow us to get a run of games in the coming months to give this talented team a chance to show their full potential.Team;Conor Dempsey, James Barron(Jordan Kennedy),Ethan Butler,Shane Kinsella,Ben Duffy,Niall O Callaghan(Matthew Purcell)Darragh Treacy(Evan Marshall)Aaron Kinsella,Alan Rhodes,John Halligan(Robbie Muldoon),Mark Aylward.

U16 Kilmore 6 Ross Celtic 4
A crazy game!!We travelled to Kilmore on Saturday hoping for a game as we had gone 8 weeks without one. The ref declared the pitch playable but only just. Our starting team showed three changes from our first match, two because of other committments and the other for disciplinary reasons. This only slighty weakened our squad but not our starting team. Almost from the first few minutes the pitch started to cut up and this was going to be about who made fewest mistakes as players struggled to stay on their feet. We conceded an early goal from a mistake at the back but started to get into the game pushing the home team back with good passing and movement. Ethan Butler equalised from a 25 yard free kick to the top corner and when Ben Duffy scored soon after, crashing home from the edge of the box it seemed a matter of how many we would win by. But the home team had two very dangerous attackers and on the few occasions the ball was played to them they had us in trouble. From one of those attacks they equalised and soon after were awarded a penalty to go ahead. Despite playing all the football we found ourselves behind at the break. The second half followed the same pattern with the home team happy to sit back in defence and hit us on the break and from one of those breaks they scored again. But we kept trying to play football on an increasingly poor surface and got back into the game when an Alan Rhodes corner was turned into his own net by a defender. Soon after our best move of the match saw us equalise. Excellent passing in midfield saw Aaron Kinsella put Jack Saunders through and he finished cooly across the keeper. But the home attack were causing us trouble every time the ball was played forward and they scored twice more and try as we might we could not come back. No player could be faulted for lack of effort or committment but we must learn to take our chances when they come and that defending is every much a part of the game as attacking. The home team adapted to the conditions much better than us and deserved the win. Team;Kevin Burke,Matthew Purcell(Jordan Kennedy),James Barron(Conor Dempsey),Alan Rhodes,John Caulfield,Niall O Callaghan(Gavin Mernagh),Ben Duffy,Aaron Kinsella,Darrgh Treacy,Jack Saunders,Ethan Butler,Subs Evan Marshall, Richard Flynn.

Under 16 New Ross Celtic 3 North End 0
The new season for the under 16s began with a win and a good performance for this talented group of players.A starting team that had only 1 regular from last season shows the huge turnaround of players but they coped with everything the opposition threw at them and, once the second goal was scored began to play the sort of football they are capable of. We started with the help of a swirling wind and a good early move put us 1-0 up. Niall O Callaghan put Jack Saunders through and he found the bottom corner with a skilful finish. Maybe scoring so early affected us but North End dominated for a while.Kevin Burke in goal only had one real save to make but we were far from comfortable. In the second half against the wind we played more football and Conor Purcell won a good tackle and passed to Jack Saunders. He had plenty still to do but beat the defender and again finished well.
We started to play better football and the third goal came from an Alan Rhodes free kick headed in by Conor Purcell.A good start and plenty of headaches ahead for the management picking from such a strong squad. Team Kevin Burke,James Barron(Jordan Kennedy),Ethan Butler Shane Kinsella,Conor Purcell,Niall O Callaghan(John Caulfield),Matthew Purcell(Darragh Treacy),Alan Rhodes,Aaron Kinsella,Mark Aylward(Gongy St Ledger),Jack Saunders(Gavin Mernagh).

Under-16 Wexford albion 6 New Ross Celtic 1 ;New Ross Celtic 3 Ferns 2
Two very different performances, two weeks ago in wexford we never got started against a good albion side and paid the price.James Kehoe scored but a lot of work needed. On saturday last at home to ferns we needed a big improvement and while we were a little slow to start we showed plenty of guts to come out on top.Having survived a couple of early scares,James Kehoe,Jamie o Dowd & Michael Murphy scored to put us 3 up after 25 mins.Ferns pulled a goal back before half time to get back into the match and had kasper not made a couple of good saves it could have been even closer.Again we were slow to start the second half and while we allowed no clear chances we were far from comfortable. With 2 mins to go ferns got a second but we held out to record a good win.Team;Kasper Swic,Michael Murphy(Jordan Kennedy),Dean Kennedy,James Whelan,Shane Kinsella,David Saradakis,Jack Saunders(Dylan Bramley),Stephen Furlong,James Kehoe(Eoghan Harford),Jamie O Dowd,Emmett Kinsella.

Under-16 Rosslare Rangers 1 Ross Celtic 2
A solid performance in difficult conditions. We played into the galeforce wind in the first half and were slow to settle conceding a penalty after 10 mins.Kasper saved brilliantly but couldn't keep out the rebound. This woke us up and Kevin Burke & James Kehoe went close before half time.A strong start to the second half saw us level after 5 mins. A right wing James Whelan corner was headed powerfully to the net by Dean Kennedy.Despite dominating we couldn't finish off some good football,James Kehoe & Stephen Furlong had good chances saved by the home keeper. When the winner came it was worth waiting for,Dean won the ball in midfield, passed to Stephen who played a one two with Emmett and from 25 yards the ball flew into the top corner giving the keeper no chance.A goal fit to win any game.Well done to all.Team:Kasper,Jordan Kennedy,James Whelan,Shane Kinsella,John Caulfield,Kevin Burke,Dean Kennedy,Stephen Furlong,David Saradakis,James Kehoe,Emmett Kinsella.Subs Aaron Kinsella,Darragh Treacy,Niall o Callaghan,Dylan Bramley,Michael Murphy,Martin Rowe.

Under-16 New Ross Celtic 0 Bunclody 1
a heartbreaking loss conceeding a last minute goal having played 65 mins with 10 men.We started brightly jamie o dowd & james kehoe going close before Aaron kinsella hit the bar from 25 yards. After losing a player bunclody came more into the game but casper in goal & shane kinsella, john caulfield, james whelan & jordan kennedy(on for jack saunders inj)worked hard & kept chances to a minimum. After half time we kept working and were well in the game with aaron kinsella, emmet kinsella, stephen furlong & david saradakis more than holding their own in midfield.dylan bramley came in for aaron and as the game neared the end james went close with two great chances. But as tiredness took its toll a last minute corner was poorly defended and we paid the price.A harsh lesson but plenty of promise for the coming season.

New Ross Celtic U14 4 Curracloe 0
The underfourteens started the new season with a good away win down in curracloe last saturday. after winning div two last year this was going to be a bit tougher playing div one. the game was a bit scrappy at the start with both teams finding it hard to keep possesion. celtic had the better of the chances with eathan butler and alan rhodes missing good chances. nil nil at half time. the second half started with celtic pushing forward looking for a goal and killian bennett looked lively up front coming on for joey kenneddy. kevin burke opened the scoring with a header from a shane kinsella free kick. after that celtic started to run riot and scored three more from killian, and two goals for eoin st ledger. ben duffy also played very well at the right back position.

New Ross Celtic U14 2 Moyne Rangers 1 celtic go six points clear at the top
The under fourteens kept up there good form at the weeekend with a home win against moyne rangers. Celtic got off to a good start and had most of the early posession with some good chances for Jamie o dowd and James kehoe. Half way through the first half markie donnolly was unlucky with a shot from twenty five yards out wich just went over. Celtic were made to pay for there missed chances and moyne took the lead when the defence got cought napping. Celtic kept the pressure up and were rewarded on the stroke of half time when markie donnolly sent in a free kick to the back post which michael stevens powered home. one each at half time. The second half started much the same as the first with celtic having most of the play and deservedly took the lead when emmet kinsella put james kehoe through one on one against the keeper which he calmly lobbed from a thight angle. This seemed to kick start the moyne team and they started to enjoy more of the possession and creating chances but the celtic defence held strong with Bill Phelan making some excellent saves. In the end celtic were glad to hear the final whistle and now move six points clear at the top of the table.
