New Ross Celtic:Dean Katus,Conor Walsh,Jack Gaynord(1),Cormac Tierney,Ciaran St Ledger,Keith O leary,Thomas O connor(2),Dylan wickham(1),David O Connor(3),Kyle Grangel(1),Michael Kelly(3)..The team had to be changed around a bit with sean duffy being suspended and the captaincy going to David O Connor for the day.All Blacks were always going to be the underdogs in this game with them being 2 divisions below Celtic but they still cud'nt under estimate them. The first goal was'nt long coming around when Michael kelly latched on to a through ball to make it one nil. That opened up the flood gates for Celtic with Michael kelly getting another 2 to make his hatrick,David o connor,Jack Gaynord,Kyle grangel and Dylan wickham all getting goals before half time.7-0 at the break and celtic made a change bringing on ger berry for michael kelly who was happy enough with his 3 goals.Sum sloppy defending left all blacks in for a stupid goal but after that it was a matter of how many the boys would score and when David O connor got another 2 to complete his hatrick and his cousin thomas getting 2 of his own,It was better if the ref blew it up early .And when the sub ger berry popped up to get a goal of his own the ref had enough and ended the match 13 minutes early.Great win boys build on that now for the next match

Ross Celtic Team:Goal-David Caulfield,backs-Shane Kincella,Martin O Sullivan,Colin St Ledger,Gary O Connor Midfield-Philip O Connor,Diarmuid Roche,Keith Katus,Stuie Power Forwards- Ramon Fernandez,Anthony Feeney....Celtic could'nt come into this game thinking it was going to be an easy match just because they were playing a team a division below them with Moyne Rangers having a very strong youth system and most of them playing for their B team. With the day being very wet the pitch was very sloppy and very hard to play on.The match was very even a half hour in with both teams finding it hard to play but when the Moyne keeper made a bad mistake trying to clear the ball it fell to the feet of Phily O'Connor who swung the ball to the back post to find Anthony Feeneys head for an easy header. 1-0 at half time but Celtic knew that one goal wasnt good enough and they needed to press on and get a few more. John made no changes at half time with the team doing grand the way they were. It didnt take long for Celtic to get the second when Martin O'Sullivan played in the Goo Feeney to get his second. Next came one of the rarest goals of all time when Keith Katus received the ball on the edge of the box to place the ball with a fine finish into the bottom corner. Three subs were made with Michael Cullen for Diarmuid, Eoin Long for Ramon and Tony Kelly for Keith. Anthony Feeney had (FOUR)more chances to get his hatrick but could'nt hit the net when it was easier to pass the ball to players in space but when the ball came to Michael Cullen about 20 yards out he showed Anthony how to do it by lobbing the keeper when he was in no mans land. A late goal was scored by Moyne but at that stage it made no difference. The match ended 4-1 which was a good result. Bring on the next round and hopefully we'll get Camolin Celtic 2nd team!!

Celtic came into this game on the back of a defeat to top of the table side gorey but they bounced back with a good win.Limited players meant celtic only had 11 players to choose from but the 11 players stood tall and didnt let each other down with a fine performance by everyone. In goal Dean Kehoe, back line of Ciaran St Ledger,Jack Gaynord,Stuart frizelle,Conor walsh,Midfield ,Michael Kelly,Sean Duffy,Thomas O Connor,Keith O Leary up front Dylan Wickham and Kyle Grangel,The game got of to the worst possible start when a break down the right hand side with just 5 minutes gone was swung in and got a wicked deflection guiding it past dean kehoe giving him no chance. The boys wer'nt going to let one silly mistake get to them and they piled on the pressure straight away with some good shots from kyle grangel and thomas o connor.Just before the break celtic made the pressure count with the ball falling to thomas o connor who shot a lovely shot from outside the box to beat the keeper on his right hand side to make it 1-1 at the break. With some good encouragement by the manager colm duffy at half time gave the players a boost to give it there best shot. The 2nd half started off fairly slow with the ball being in midfield for at least 10 minutes. Some quick passes by curracloe half way through the 2nd half gave them some good chances to take the lead only for Man of the match dean kehoe making 3 or 4 fantastic saves to keep things level. With the Defence of Ciaran ,conor, stuie, and jack clearing anything tat came at them made it very hard for the home team to mount any really chances coming to the end of the match. At this stage the celtic midfield of sean, monkey, thomas and michael were starting to pass the ball around a good and make a few chances of shots for dylan and kyle. The break through finally came when a shot from dylan came back to sean duffy, who shot from way out and left the keeper no chance.Alot of pressure was piled on the celtic goal near the end but the boys held out for the win,WELL DONE BOYS GREAT WIN

With results increasingly going against the lads in what's proving to be one of the toughest seasons yet both on and off the field, this game against Bunclody was as big a game the lads would be playing all season. Another make shift team was put together and the starting 11 was Aaron Deegan in goal, at the back Danny Conway, Johnny Mullett, Matt O'Neill, Bryan Mullett, midfield of Craig Perry O'Brien, Damien Fee Cullen, Anthony Drak O'Connor, Stephen O'Leary, and up front were Stephen Bulldog O'Neill, and Mikey Grangel. Chances were at a minimum in the first half with Bunclody being restricted mostly to long range efforts which Aaron gathered. Midway through the half Celtic probably should have taken the lead when bulldog fired over an open goal from 5 yards. Play from both sides was shocking at times with simple passes proving difficult on a very bumpy surface. Set pieces seemed to be Bunclody's main threat and they had a couple of corners and free kicks that the lads did well to deal with. Half time saw the score at 0-0 so the game was still wide open. The second half started in much the same pattern with sloppy passes for the lads giving the ball away far to easily. Bunclody were unlucky not to take the lead 20 minutes in when a curling free kick from 19 yards struck the under-side of the bar leaving Aaron stranded but thankfully it fell to Matt who graciously cleared. Celtic were finding it hard to create chances and when they did it was the final touch or shot that let them down. However with 20 minutes left, Bunclody hit the woodwork again and Celtic went on the counter attack. Great work from bulldog saw his cross at the by-line fall to unmarked Drak at the back post who sent it back where it came from, 1-0. Bunclody started to get more involved until the end and had the lads pinned back for the remainder and keeping Aaron on his toes with a couple of goal bound efforts he and the back 4 did well to keep out. But the same old story was to happen in the final minute of the game. A silly free was conceded on the left and an unmarked player saw his glancing header sail into the net and that was that. 1-1 at full time but Celtic will be much the happier to take a point from this after Bunclody created far more chances. It's going to be a tough run in to the season so every point, player and supporter will count. All new members/players would be welcome too because the lads are struggling. Courtown away next sunday.

Ross Celtic went into this tough away game knowing nothing only a win was good enough to keep their promotion hopes alive. With suspensions and injurys to players a different back line and keeper had to made. Line up was David Caulfield in goal, back line of Keith Katus, Martin O'Sullivan, Colin St Ledger, Billy Kehoe, midfield of Phily O'Connor, Diarmuid Roche, Ramon Fernandez, Gary O Connor and up front Anthony Feeney and Stuie power. Celtic knew this game was always going to be a tough game with Tombrack being a very young side and after throwing away a 2-0 lead at home earlier in the season they needed to try keep 11 men on the field. It was Tombrack who had all the early pressure creating a couple of great chances with David Caulfield making 3 or 4 great saves to keep Celtic level. Celtic only created one clear chance in the first half when the ball was crossed in from the left, it was took down by Phily O'Connor who turned and drove it into the bottom corner only to hear the whistle blow by the ref who said it was hand ball. Phily didn't argue cause thats just the player he is. Tombrack were still attacking in numbers and with all the pressure on the defence it was only a matter of time before they scored and when a sloppy ball fell in around the box with just seconds left till half time the Tombrack midfielder drove the ball into the bottom corner giving the keeper no chance. 1-0 at half time from one mistake wasn't too bad because the boys knew they had it in them to put the pressure on in the second half. No changes were made by the managar at the break with all the team playing well all over the pitch. The second half started off alot better than the first with the ball being played out to both wings and Phily skinning 3 lads every time (or so he thought). All the attacking paid off when the ball was played to Stuie in the box and he was hacked out of it for a penalty. This was a big chance to get back into this game and Gary O'Connor made no mistake from the spot. John made a change bringing on Tony Kelly for Billy kehoe who got a little knock earlier in the game. Tombrack were rattled at this stage with celtic destroying them in every position. And a well deserved lead wasnt long coming when a long ball was played over the top to Anthony feeney who made the keeper push it out to the edge of the box only for it to fall to Colin who placed a nice slow shot into the empty net. With just 13 minutes and 36 seconds left all the boys had to do was keep pumping the ball forward and waste as much time as they could. Anthony Feeney was replaced by Michael Cullen late on to add some fresh legs. Final whistle went and players and manager were over the moon knowing its all in their hands now to keep winning.''UP THE CELTS''rip it out of it yup ya boy

Playing against a team two divisions above them and league leaders at that was always going to be a daunting prospect but Celtic turned in a sterling performance to push their much vaunted opponents to the pin of their collar before succumbing to a goal which was very much in the fortunate category. In truth this was a game of very few chances with both defences performing brilliantly while the handling of the two goalkeepers was excellent throughout. The game ebbed and flowed throughout with both sides enjoying periods of dominance which only produced a few half chances. Ger Berry was soundness personified between the posts for Ross while Anthony O'Connor and Diarmuid Kehoe were twin rocks at the centre of the defence. Both Craig McDonald and Eoin Burke faced up to pacey opponents and dealt comfortably with everything thrown at them. Rory O'Connor tormented the away defence at times with his tricky play and pace and was most unlucky not to grab a goal midway through the first half only to be denied by the visiting keeper. Shortly afterwards a wicked deflection in the Celtic defence broke to the Crossabeg striker who honed in on goal only to be denied by a super save from Ger Berry but the ball broke to another Crossabeg player who finished to the net. Another electric break by Rory O'Connor saw him tee up Kyle Gardiner, who held the ball up to great effect throughout the first half, for a shot which flew the wrong side of the post. Conor Walsh and Kyle McGrath worked themselves to a standstill in the centre of midfield and never allowed the more physical away side to gain a foothold. Keane Walsh was another to impress with his passing and control while Joseph Lawal was a constant threat with his pace and workrate. The second half was a mirror of the first with both sides working their socks off to create chances but two well marshalled defences only allowed the concession of the minimal amount of half chances. Crossabeg brought several comfortable saves from Ger Berry while the away keeper was soundness personified with Kyle McGrath most unlucky to get a clear sight of goal on one occasion and Rory O'Connor being denied at the death on a number of occasions. Patrick Richardson and Kyle Dwyer appearred as half time substitutes and impressed with some very astute passes but in the end it was the visitors who advanced to the next round courtesy of this narrow victory.
New Ross Celtic : Ger Berry, Eoin Burke, Anthony O'Connor, Diarmuid Kehoe, Craig McDonald, Rory O'Connor, Conor Walsh, Kyle McGrath, Keane Walsh ( Patrick Richardson ), Joseph Lawal, Kyle Gardiner ( Kyle Dwyer )

After the long christmas break from matches the girls where rearing to get back into the swing of things again. It didnt take too long for the girls to settle into the game and for Rosie Bennett to find the back of the net just 15 mins into the first half and was followed 10 mins later with Chloe Bennett getting a nice tap in to make it 0-2 to finish the first half. The second half was a little bit tougher as both teams were getting tired and the home team scrambled in a goal from a corner to make it 1-2. Celtic had plenty of good chances to score again but couldnt find the net and the game ended 1-2. A great 3 points today girls to see us clear top of the league so bring on the next game. WELL DONE!!!
