Update 22nd November 2010

There was a massive crowd for the final which took place in the Brandon House on Friday 19th November.

The 10 finalists were;

  • Zoelina Fierce-Zoe Smith
  • The Royal Family-Helen Butler,Jordana Wall, Nicola Cooney, Sarah Stafford
  • Sassy Lassies-Niamh Barry, Elaine O'Connor, Nicola Barry
  • Devine Inspiration-Mark Lee, Stephen O'Leary, Brian Mullett, Fee Cullen
  • Tropical Fruit-Michael Sheehan
  • Three Non Blondes-Bernie Sinnott, Siobhan O'Connor, Colette Bradley
  • The Whinehouse Sisters-Vonnie Purcell, Jessica Ryan
  • The Fantastic Jon Bon-Keith Flanagan
  • Guess Who-Ann St. Ledger, Pauline Dunphy
  • Stevie Wonderful-Nigel O'Neill

The show kicked off with a much improved Michael Sheehan singing Living the Vida Loca. The acts just got better and better with Zoe Smith lifting the roof with 'And all that Jazz', the Sassy Lassies raised the mens' blood to boiling point with both their song and costumes. Mark Lee and gang had the crowd on their feet with 'Dancing in the Street' religion will never be the same again! Three Non Blondes were outstanding with 'Does your Mother Know'. The judges were again amazed by the talent in this years show, and at times got an eyefull with some of the costumes.

By elimination the acts were dwindled down to three hopefuls, The Royal Family, Three Non Blondes and Sassy Lassies. After the sing-off,The Royal Family were the first of the three to go.This left the judges unable to decide between the remaining two, so first place, deservedly, went jointly to Sassy Lassies and 3 Non Blondes.

There was also prizes on the night for best fancy dress, sponsored by Briscoe Conway Jewellers Waterford, best male went to Davy Rhodes and best female went to Donna North.

Ross Celtic would like to thank everyone for there support, and look forward to Celebrity Wannabe 2011.

Update 3rd November 2010

The second heat of this year’s Ross Celtic A.F.C. Celebrity Wannabe 'Night At the Movies' competition took place in Corcoran's pub in the Irishtown on Friday 29th October with acts on the night including

  • 3 Non Blondes -Does your mother know (Siobhan Aspel, Colette Bradley,Bernie Connick)
  • Royal Family - I'm a believer (Helen Butler and troop)
  • Holy Blue Eyes - Mack the knife (Fr. Odhran Furlong)

  • Tropical fruit - Living the Vida Loca (Cllr. Michael Sheehan)
  • Sassy Lassies - Lady Marmalade (Niamh Barry, Elaine O'Connor, Nicola Barry).

Show stoppers on the night were 'Sassy Lassies' with an amazing rendition of Lady Marmalade. Mark Lee and his gang got back in the habit with a track from Sister Act, with Steven leaving very little to the imagination with his costume.

Bottom two on the night were Fr. Odhran Furlong and Michael Sheehan. As Fr. Furlong can't make the final night he bowed out leaving Michael progress.

Again the talent on show was amazing. The final night in the Brandon House on Friday 19th November promises a jam packed night of entertainment.

There will be a prize, sponsored by Briscoe Conway Jewellers, for the best fancy dress on the night
